Sala Sihombing
Director, Mediator (HKIAC) (FINRA) (HKMAAL)

Sala Sihombing originally trained as a solicitor in England. In 1996 she returned to Hong Kong and was admitted to practice in Hong Kong. She practised in a local firm in Hong Kong and focused on civil and criminal litigation.
Sala started working in banking as in-house counsel in 1998. She worked at an independent Asian investment bank and a French bank / securities firm before joining Morgan Stanley in 2000.
In her time at Morgan Stanley, Sala ran the Asian Equity Documentation Group for 4 years before joining DSP as their Head of Product Development for Asia. Despite enjoying the challenging environment and demands of the role, Sala started exploring ADR as an option in 2010. She left Morgan Stanley in mid 2011.
Sala attended the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA where she received an LLM with a focus in Mediation and International Dispute Resolution. On completing her LLM, Sala was appointed as an International Ambassador for the Straus Institute. During her studies, Sala was able to extern at FINRA in New York. Sala is a co-founder of FACES ADR, a global network of ADR professionals. Sala taught a financial dispute resolution course in the LLM (Arbitration and Dispute Resolution) programme at HKU in 2013 and will be teaching again in 2014.
Sala has joined the FINRA mediation roster and is available for FINRA mediations. Sala is a mediator on the General Panel of the HKIAC and HKMAAL.
